Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking an experienced MEP Design Lead to develop multidisciplinary electrical design for large-scale projects in Chennai. You will deliver MEP drawings, load calculations, and detailed deliverables, coordinating across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, while ensuring safety norms and codes are met.

The role emphasizes BIM coordination, design validation, and constructability reviews, with collaboration across internal teams and external consultants to achieve

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 7-15 years of experience in electrical/MEP design and coordination for large projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop multidisciplinary MEP designs ensuring integration and compliance with project specs and safety norms.
• Prepare design drawings, load calculations, and detailed engineering deliverables for MEP systems.
• Coordinate HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure codes and client requirements are met.
• Support BIM model coordination and clash resolution.
• Contribute input for design validation, cost optimization and constructability reviews.
• Engage with internal stakeholders including Design Lead and QA/QC team.
• Engage with external stakeholders such as consultants and vendors.

1. To support the development and delivery of multidisciplinary MEP designs, ensuring functional integration and adherence to project specifications, safety norms, and design standards.

2. Prepare design drawings, load calculations, and detailed engineering deliverables for MEP systems.

3. Coordinate across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines.

4. Conduct technical reviews and ensure compliance with applicable codes and client requirements.

5. Support BIM model coordination and clash resolution.

6. Provide inputs for design validation, cost optimization, and constructability reviews.

7. Internal Stakeholder : Design Lead, Project Engineers, BIM Coordinators, QA/QC Team
