Job summary

Jindal Steel Limited in Angul, India seeks an experienced Electrical & Automation technician to handle breakdowns, maintenance, and calibration of PLC, SCADA, drives and power systems. You will perform shift rounds, ensure electrical safety, coordinate with production and maintenance teams, and uphold reliability of automation networks in a heavy industry setting.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Siemens S7-400/1500, S120/G120 drives, ABB drives, MCC/PCC panels, and field instruments.

Qualifications

• Maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC, SCADA, and automation networks.
• Shift rounds and condition monitoring to identify abnormalities.
• Electrical safety practices and proper handovers during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Attending electrical and automation breakdowns and restoring equipment quickly to minimize production loss.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC, RIO, HMI, SCADA, industrial networks, interlocks, and automation logic.
• Maintenance of AC/DC drives, VFDs, motors, encoders, and control systems.
• Upkeep of MCC, PCC, power distribution, breakers, relays, and control panels.
• Calibration of field instruments such as sensors and valves.
• Coordinating with production and mechanical teams during breakdowns and shutdowns.
• Ensuring compliance with electrical safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Attending electrical and automation breakdowns and restoring equipment quickly to minimize production loss.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC, RIO, HMI, SCADA, industrial communication networks, interlocks, and automation logic.
• Maintenance of AC/DC drives, VFDs, motors, encoders, feedback devices, and motor control systems.
• Upkeep of MCC, PCC, power distribution systems, breakers, relays, contactors, DBs, and control panels.
• Maintenance and calibration of field instruments such as proximity sensors, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, level sensors, control valves, and actuators.
• Performing shift rounds and condition monitoring to identify abnormalities before failures occur.
• Coordinating with production and mechanical teams during breakdowns and shutdowns.
• Ensuring compliance with electrical safety practices and proper shift handovers.
