Job summary

Exide Industries in Maharashtra seeks an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee HT/LT distribution, energy management, and project execution for plant automation.

The role covers PLC/HMI/SCADA troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, and safety compliance with LOTOTO practices. You will coordinate with vendors and drive continuous improvement and energy savings initiatives across the site.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
• 8-12 years of experience in manufacturing or process industries.
• Proven knowledge of PLC, HMI/SCADA, and electrical safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HT/LT electrical distribution systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant equipment.
• Maintain transformers, DG sets, MCCs, PCCs, ACBs, VCBs, APFC panels, and UPS systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and minimize downtime.
• Monitor power consumption and energy-saving initiatives.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Program and modify PLC logic as required.
• Maintain communication networks such as Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and CAN.
• Commission and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, motion control systems, and industrial robots.
• Maintain industrial automation software and backups.
• Execute electrical and automation projects from planning to commissioning.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and drawings.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal departments.
• Ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule.
• Maintain electrical drawings, SLDs, panel layouts, PLC programs, and backup files.
• Prepare maintenance reports and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Update preventive maintenance records and spare parts inventory.

Role & responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance

• Maintain HT/LT electrical distribution systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant equipment.

• Troubleshoot field instruments and control loops.

Project Execution

• Execute electrical and automation projects from planning to commissioning.
• Good hands on experience in executing projects on Energy Savings.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and drawings.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal departments.
• Ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule.

Documentation

• Maintain electrical drawings, SLDs, panel layouts, PLC programs, and backup files.
• Prepare maintenance reports and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Update preventive maintenance records and spare parts inventory.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Implement Lockout-Tagout-Try Out (LOTOTO) procedures.
• Participate in electrical inspections and safety audits.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, Electrical Inspectorate, and statutory requirements.

Continuous Improvement

• Improve machine reliability and reduce breakdowns.
• Identify automation opportunities to increase productivity.
• Implement Kaizen, TPM, Lean, and energy conservation initiatives.
