JOB DESCRIPTION

ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

A Maintenance Engineer specializing in electrical repairs, crane maintenance, DG set maintenance and repair, as well as UPS maintenance and repair, would typically have a multifaceted job description encompassing various responsibilities.

Here's a detailed breakdown of the role:

• 1. Repairs & Maintenance:
  • (a) Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in equipment, machinery, and systems.
  • (b) Perform preventive maintenance to ensure electrical systems operate efficiently and safely duly following electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards in all repair and maintenance tasks.
  • (c) Conduct routine maintenance checks on cranes including inspection of crane components such as hoists, hooks, ropes, and controls for signs of wear or damage to ensure proper functionality.
  • (d) Periodical lubrication and repair or replace defective crane parts as needed to minimize downtime.
  • (e) Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks on diesel generator (DG) sets including checking of fuel levels, coolant, oil, and battery condition to ensure proper operation.
  • (f) Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues in DG sets.
  • (g) Inspect uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units for signs of wear, corrosion, or malfunction and test UPS batteries and replace them when necessary to maintain backup power capacity. Periodical calibration and troubleshooting will also be a major part of the maintenance
• 2. Utilities. Maintain and repair of different machines like compressor, HVAC, stabilizer, transformer etc
• 3. Documentation and Reporting. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, records of equipment specifications and generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance costs for management review.
• 4. Safety and Compliance. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Stay updated on industry regulations, codes, and best practices related to electrical maintenance. Periodically conduct safety inspections of equipment and work areas to identify and address potential hazards.
