Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Uttar Pradesh to perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on electrical systems in a manufacturing environment. You will install, test, inspect, and repair motors, transformers, DG sets, lighting, and related equipment while interpreting schematics and ensuring safety compliance.

The role requires a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 3–6 years of experience, knowledge of electrical drawings, and familiarity with PTW,

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a Government-recognized University/Institute.
  • Minimum 60% marks in 10th, 12th, and Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or process industry.
  • Sound knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of motors, transformers, DG sets, switchgear, and HT/LT electrical systems (up to 11 kV).
  • Working knowledge of Fire Alarm, Cathodic Protection, and Public Address systems.
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards, PTW, LOTO, HIRA, and SJA.
  • Basic computer proficiency with MS Office and maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment as per maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components including motors, transformers, DG sets, lighting systems, wiring, and associated equipment.
  • Operate and maintain Fire Alarm, Cathodic Protection, and Public Address systems.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Calibrate electrical instruments and equipment as per defined specifications.
  • Maintain hand tools, testing instruments, jigs, and fixtures in safe and serviceable condition.
  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and eliminate unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out through approved PTW, SJA, HIRA and other safety procedures.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Comply with departmental ISO, EHS, and statutory requirements and support audits.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping before, during, and after maintenance activities.
  • Use, maintain, and promote the proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
  • Train and guide new employees and contractors on safe work practices and procedures.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams, committees, and improvement projects.
  • Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for equipment failures and audit observations.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to enhance electrical system safety, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
