Job summary

Eshan Minerals in India (Maharashtra) seeks a Head of Department (Instrumentation & Electrical) to lead the plant’s instrumentation and automation. You will oversee PLC/DCS, calibration, and field instruments, coordinate with Production, Electrical, Mechanical and Process teams, and steer maintenance budgets and uptime improvements.

Required: 10–15 years in instrumentation/automation, a degree in Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering, and hands-on PLC/DCS experience with Siemens/ABB/Schneider.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
• 10-15 years experience in manufacturing/instrumentation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cement plant instrumentation and automation.
• Experience with PLC/DCS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the instrumentation and automation department across the plant.
• Ensure preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all instrumentation systems.
• Manage PLC, DCS, SCADA, and control systems used in cement manufacturing.
• Oversee calibration and maintenance of transmitters, sensors, flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature sensors, and control valves.
• Ensure the smooth operation of instrumentation systems in the kiln, raw mill, coal mill, cement mill, packing plant, and material-handling systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot field instruments, control panels, VFDs, and automation equipment.
• Plan annual maintenance budgets, spare-parts inventory, and procurement requirements.
• Coordinate with Production, Electrical, Mechanical, and Process departments to minimize plant downtime.
• Lead and develop the instrumentation team, including engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, maintenance standards, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain equipment history, breakdown reports, calibration records, and maintenance documentation.
• Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and service providers for technical support and upgrades.
