Job summary

Tenneco in Pune seeks an EHS Engineer to lead environmental, health and safety initiatives at the site. You will ensure compliance with ISO45001/ISO14001, perform inspections, manage permit systems, and coordinate MSDS records and emergency planning.

You will report to top management with monthly updates and support line management on HIRA, PPE, and training. Strong knowledge of EHS practices and steel manufacturing environment a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of EHS management systems ISO45001 and ISO14001
• Experience in EHS inspection of equipment, work area and work methods as per Factory Act & various Rules
• Experience in Safe Work Permit System
• Experience in on-site emergency planning
• Experience in Environmental statements, Hazardous Waste Annual Return & disposal in secured landfills
• Experience in MSDS recordkeeping for chemicals
• Experience in organizing and convening EHS committee meetings
• Experience in HIRA preparation for tasks
• Experience in daily and monthly EHS reporting to top management
• Experience in First Aid and accident reporting procedures
• Experience in advising PPE and coordinating with purchasing for PPE quality
• Experience in supervision of STP/ETP and operator training
• Familiar with Ergonomics and Industrial hygiene techniques
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and communication
• Familiar with emergency response techniques
• 3-5 years. DME/ BE Mech with Diploma in Industrial Health & Safety or equivalent degree approved by State Govt

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EHS management systems (ISO45001 and ISO14001).
• Conduct inspections of equipment, work area, and methods per applicable laws.
• Maintain Safe Work Permit System and emergency plans onsite.
• Prepare and submit Environment Statements, Hazardous Waste Annual Return and manage hazardous waste disposal.
• Maintain MSDS records for all chemicals used.
• Organize and convene EHS committee meetings.
• Support line management in Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA).
• Prepare daily and monthly EHS performance reports for top management.
• Oversee First Aid and Accident Reporting procedures.
• Advise on PPE needs and coordinate with purchasing for PPE quality.
• Supervise STP/ETP systems and provide operator training.
• Apply ergonomics and industrial hygiene practices.

• Organized and convened EHS Committee meeting.
• Assisted to the line management in the preparation of Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) for the various tasks.
• Daily report and monthly report to Top management on Environmental, Health and Safety Performance.
• Managed and directed First Aid and Accident Reporting procedures.
• To advice Personal Protective equipment to departments and ensuring high quality PPEs in coordination with purchase departments.
• Supervision of STP/ETP System & Training to Operators.
• Familiar with Ergonomics & Industrial hygiene techniques
