Job summary

Macsen Laboratories is seeking an experienced EHS & Licensing Officer to oversee Environmental, Health & Safety programs, licensing, and regulatory affairs. The role includes audits, risk assessments and government liaison to ensure timely compliance.

  • Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, HIRA, EHS audits and emergency preparedness.

Job description

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced EHS & Licensing Officer to manage Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), statutory compliance, environmental licensing, regulatory affairs, audits, and government liaison activities. The role will ensure that all applicable licenses, approvals, submissions, and compliance requirements are completed accurately and within defined timelines.


Key Responsibilities:
1. EHS & Environmental Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, safety surveys, HIRA and risk assessments.
  • Identify non-compliances, unsafe conditions and environmental risks and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance related to wastewater, emissions, hazardous waste, solid waste and other environmental parameters.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring for air, water,stack emissions, noise and soil.
  • Review environmental reports and take corrective actions wherever required.
  • Maintain and update On-Site and Off-Site Emergency Plans.
2. Licensing & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Manage Environment Clearance (EC), CTE, CTO, environmental authorizations, consents, licenses and statutory approvals.
  • Ensure timely renewal and compliance with conditions attached to statutory approvals.
  • Maintain complete records of licenses, certificates, approvals, inspection reports and compliance submissions.
  • Track expiry dates and initiate renewals well in advance.
  • Prepare and submit statutory forms, returns, reports, applications and regulatory documents.
3. Government Liaison:
  • Coordinate with SPCB, CPCB, Factory & Boilers Department, DISH, Labour Department, Fire Department, local authorities and other regulatory bodies.
  • Handle government inspections, audits, notices,queries, hearings, applications and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate with government officials during site visits and regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain a centralized tracker for licenses, approvals, renewals, submissions, notices and compliance deadlines.
  • Ensure timely responses to government notices, observations and compliance requirements.

Candidate Requirements:
  • MSC / B.E./ B. Tech in Chemical Engineering is mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in EHS, environmental compliance, statutory licensing or regulatory affairs.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, manufacturing or process industries preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of SPCB/CPCB compliance, EC, CTE/CTO, environmental regulations and statutory licensing.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, HIRA, EHS audits and emergency preparedness.
  • Exposure to ETP/STP/MEE operations and environmental monitoring preferred.
  • Strong government liaison, communication, documentation and coordination skills.
