Job summary

Geaan Electronics in Karnataka, India seeks a skilled machinist to operate conventional lathe machines and EDM for precision die and mould work, reading engineering drawings and setting up tools and fixtures.

You will inspect finished components with vernier calipers and micrometers, maintain machine cleanliness, follow safety norms, and report any breakdowns to the supervisor to ensure quality and on-time production.

Qualifications

• Reading engineering drawings is required.
• Ability to set up tools and fixtures for machining.
• Strong eye for detail and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional lathe machines for turning, facing, boring, threading, and knurling per drawings.
• Operate EDM machines for precision die and mould work.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, job cards, and work instructions accurately.
• Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces prior to machining operations.
• Inspect finished components with vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and dimensional tolerances.
• Report machine breakdowns or abnormalities to the supervisor immediately.
• Follow all safety norms and guidelines within the tool room.

• Operate EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) machines for precision die and mould work
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, job cards, and work instructions accurately
• Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces prior to machining operations
• Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Maintain machine cleanliness and carry out basic preventive maintenance
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and dimensional tolerances
• Report any machine breakdowns or abnormalities to the supervisor immediately
• Follow all safety norms and guidelines within the tool room
