Job summary

Kelin India in Tamil Nadu seeks an experienced CNC EDM Wire Cut operator to set up and run machines for high-precision component fabrication. The role requires reading engineering drawings, understanding tolerances, and selecting machine parameters to achieve quality parts.

The ideal candidate has an ITI/Diploma in Mechanical or related field and 15 years of Wire Cut experience, with proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and performing first-piece inspections.

Qualifications

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Tool & Die, Production or related technical qualification.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC EDM Wire Cut machines for precision machining of components, dies, moulds and tools.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances and machining requirements.
• Prepare the machine for production including wire threading, workpiece setting, alignment and parameter selection.
• Set and adjust cutting parameters, offsets and machining conditions as per job requirements.
• Load/unload workpieces safely and accurately.
• Monitor machining process and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges etc.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic machine, wire, cutting and dimensional issues.
• Maintain machine settings, tools, consumables and records.
• Ensure components meet required dimensions, tolerances, surface finish and quality standards.
• Follow 5S, safety, quality and production procedures; maintain cleanliness.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tool Room and Maintenance teams when required.

Job Responsibilities

Required Skills

• 15 years of relevant experience in CNC EDM Wire Cut machine operation.
• Good knowledge of Wire EDM machining processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T, dimensions, and tolerances will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of CNC/EDM machine programming and parameter setting.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts.
• Safety-conscious and disciplined approach to work.

Qualification

ITI / Diploma – Mechanical, Tool & Die, Production, or related technical qualification.

Preferred Experience

Experience with CNC Wire Cut EDM machines such as Mitsubishi, Sodick, Makino, Fanuc, or similar machines will be an added advantage.
