Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a test engineer to verify that connected hardware and cloud platforms work together reliably and securely in an IoT context. The role focuses on end-to-end data flow testing from sensors through gateways to cloud dashboards and ensuring robust API testing and network behavior.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MQTT, HTTP/TCP-IP, container deployment, and Jira-based defect tracking, plus an understanding of embedded systems testing and networking

Qualifications

• Experience validating IoT hardware and cloud integrations.
• Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, SOAPUI) and network analyzers (Wireshark).
• Knowledge of testing embedded systems and data flow from sensors to cloud dashboards.

• Responsible for verifying connected hardware and cloud platforms work together reliably and securely.

Required Skills (Technical Competency):

• Test data flow from physical sensors through gateways to cloud dashboards.
• Container deployment
• Good knowledge in IoT protocols such as MQTT and networking protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP and experience working with IOT devices.
• Good understanding of computer networking basics such as DNS, DHCP, Proxies, Subnets etc.
• Knowledge in API testing
• Perform functional, regression, testing on embedded systems.
• Document technical defects, reproduce hardware/software issues, and manage bug reports using tools like Jira.

• Technical leadership in design discussions, architecture reviews, and project planning activities.
• Strong capability to drive engineering best practices, coding standards, and software quality initiatives.
• Ownership mindset with a demonstrated ability to lead projects from requirements through deployment and production support.

Good To Have
