Job summary

CustomFurnish is seeking a skilled Edge Banding Machine Operator to operate and maintain edge banding machinery for modular furniture components. You will ensure accurate, clean and high-quality edge finishes on MDF, plywood, HDHMR and other boards according to production needs.

Responsibilities include setting machine parameters, applying edge bands, inspecting for gaps or defects, coordinating with Beam Saw and CNC operators, and performing routine cleaning and maintenance while ensuring

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience operating edge banding machines in modular furniture or plywood manufacturing.
• Experience with automatic edge banding machines preferred.
• Ability to read production drawings and measurements.
• Ability to identify edge-finishing defects.
• Basic understanding of machine settings and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Operate automatic/semi-automatic edge banding machines safely and efficiently.
• Process panels according to production drawings, cutting lists and specifications.
• Set and adjust machine parameters such as temperature, feed speed, pressure and trimming settings.
• Apply PVC, ABS, acrylic and other edge bands as specified.
• Ensure proper glue application and bonding of edge bands.
• Check trimming, scraping and buffing quality after processing.
• Inspect panels for gaps, glue marks, chipping, uneven edges, colour mismatch and other defects.
• Ensure the finished edges meet the required quality and appearance standards.
• Coordinate with the Beam Saw and CNC operators to ensure components are processed correctly.
• Segregate and report defective panels for rework or correction.
• Maintain production targets and minimize material wastage.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication and basic maintenance of the machine.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of finished components to prevent scratches and damage.
• Follow all factory safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
