Job summary

Aptiv is seeking an ECAD engineer (Librarian) in Chennai to maintain and enhance the component library used for PCB design across automotive products. You will manage schematic symbols and geometry cells, ensure quality, and work with local and remote engineering teams to meet project timelines.

Candidates should be pursuing Bachelors/Masters in EEE/EC Engineering with 5–8 years of PCB librarian experience and hands-on Mentor Graphics Xpedition knowledge.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelors or Masters in Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience in PCB component librarian role.
• Hands-on experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool flow.

Responsibilities

An ECAD engineer (Librarian) guides Aptiv’s automotive OEM customers in having the best in class electronics by delivering quality component library to carry out PCB designs for wide range of products

Key responsibilities

• Operational maintenance of the component library database including schematic symbols and geometry cells
• Create, modify, review, and approve schematic symbols and cells
• Improve and incorporate design for manufacturin
• Co-operation with local and remote engineering teams
• On-time execution of assigned tasks in compliance with ASUX quality standards
• Follow Electrical Design Process
• Company image building and promotion
• Continuous development of professional qualifications
• Secure confidential information and company’s property.

Your Background

• Working towards a Bachelors/Masters in Electrical & Electronics/Electronics & Communication Engineering
• 5-8 years of experience in the PCB component librarian role
• Hands on experience in ECAD tools preferably Mentor graphics Xpedition tool flow.
• Good English skills (both spoken and written)
• Problem Solving Skills

Good To Have:

• Familiarity with Automotive PCB design exposure
• Knowledge on High speed simulations
