Job summary

ICF Bangalore Client Office is seeking a seasoned environmental and social safeguards specialist to join our project delivery teams. You will help ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguards on urban infrastructure projects, conduct field inspections, and support reporting.

You will review documents, coordinate with project teams and authorities, and contribute to risk assessments and mitigation plans.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related field.
• 5 years experience in environmental/social safeguards and urban projects preferred. Relevant backgrounds include safeguard compliance, environmental monitoring, environmental management plans, site inspections and government project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support compliance with applicable environmental and social safeguard requirements
• Review E&S aspects of DPRs, technical documents, work plans and reports
• Identify environmental and social risks associated with project activities
• Undertake field inspections and document compliance observations
• Maintain safeguard monitoring records and checklists
• Coordinate safeguard matters with the project team, contractors and relevant agencies
• Track issues and support corrective actions and follow-up
• Provide E&S inputs to progress reports and CITIIS platform reporting
• Support stakeholder consultations on environmental or social matters
• Assist with safeguard-related workshops and capacity building

Required Skills And Abilities

5 years experience in environmental/social safeguards and urban projects preferred. Relevant backgrounds include safeguard compliance, environmental monitoring, environmental management plans, site inspections and government project documentation.
