Job summary

ICF is seeking an Environmental/Social Safeguards professional to support compliance and monitoring for urban projects in Bengaluru. The role involves reviewing environmental and social aspects of project documents, conducting field inspections, and coordinating with project teams, contractors and agencies to ensure safeguards are met.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in environmental disciplines and 5 years of relevant safeguards experience, with strong report writing and documentation

Qualifications

• Degree or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related field.
• 5 years' experience in environmental/social safeguards and urban projects preferred.
• Background in safeguard compliance, environmental monitoring, and government project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support compliance with environmental and social safeguard requirements.
• Review E&S aspects of DPRs, technical documents, work plans and reports.
• Identify environmental and social risks associated with project activities.
• Undertake field inspections and document compliance observations.
• Maintain safeguard monitoring records and checklists.
• Coordinate safeguard matters with the project team, contractors and agencies.
• Track issues and support corrective actions and follow-up.
• Provide E&S inputs to progress reports and CITIIS platform reporting.
• Support stakeholder consultations on environmental or social matters.
• Assist with safeguard-related workshops and capacity building.
