Job summary

ICF Bangalore seeks an Environmental/Safeguards specialist to support compliance with environmental and social safeguards on urban projects, reviewing DPRs, plans, and reports and conducting field inspections as needed.

You will identify risks, maintain records, coordinate with project teams and agencies, and contribute to progress reports and stakeholder consultations. The role is based in Bangalore Client Office.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related field.
• 5 years experience in environmental/social safeguards and urban projects preferred.
• E&S safeguard monitoring, field inspection, compliance documentation, risk identification, and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Support compliance with applicable environmental and social safeguard requirements
• Review E&S aspects of DPRs, technical documents, work plans and reports
• Identify environmental and social risks associated with project activities
• Undertake field inspections and document compliance observations
• Maintain safeguard monitoring records and checklists
• Coordinate safeguard matters with the project team, contractors and relevant agencies
• Track issues and support corrective actions and follow-up
• Provide E&S inputs to progress reports and CITIIS platform reporting
• Support stakeholder consultations on environmental or social matters
• Assist with safeguard-related workshops and capacity building
