Job summary

Licious, Bengaluru-based meat and seafood company, seeks a Dispatch Planning & Execution lead to own end-to-end dispatch operations from warehouse to customers and stores. You will plan daily dispatches, ensure 100% order accuracy, and coordinate with warehouse, sales and logistics teams to meet SLA and TAT targets.

The role requires strong experience in high-volume, time-sensitive dispatch, cold-chain handling, and team leadership, with ERP/WMS/SAP exposure and a focus on cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG, Food, Meat, Dairy, Frozen or D2C logistics.
• Experience managing high-volume, time-sensitive dispatch operations.
• Hands-on experience in cold-chain operations preferred.
• Experience coordinating 3PLs, transporters and logistics partners.
• Strong team and manpower management experience.
• Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO, inventory control and batch expiry management.
• Solid understanding of warehouse and dispatch SOPs.
• Exposure to ERP/WMS/SAP or similar systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end dispatch operations from warehouse to stores, customers, distributors and delivery points.
• Plan daily dispatches based on orders, inventory, delivery schedules and cut-offs.
• Ensure 100% order accuracy and timely dispatch as per SLA.
• Coordinate with Warehouse, Supply Planning, Sales, Customer Experience and Logistics teams.
• Monitor loading, vehicle placement, documentation and dispatch closure.
• Drive route optimization and reduce delays, damages and costs.
• Lead and manage the dispatch team and contractor manpower.
• Maintain hygiene, safety and SOP adherence across dispatch areas.
• Ensure FEFO/FIFO, batch and expiry controls and traceability.

What makes the role meaty?

Dispatch Planning & Execution

• Own end-to-end dispatch operations from warehouse/DC to stores, customers, distributors and other delivery points.
• Plan daily dispatches based on orders, inventory availability, delivery schedules and operational cut-offs.
• Ensure 100% order accuracy and timely dispatch as per defined TAT and SLA.
• Coordinate with Warehouse, Supply Planning, Sales, Customer Experience and Logistics teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment.
• Monitor loading, vehicle placement, documentation and dispatch closure.
• Ensure minimum dispatch delays, shortages, damages and cancellations.

Perishable & Cold Chain Management

• Ensure effective handling and movement of meat, food, frozen and other temperature-sensitive products.
• Maintain required temperature conditions across storage, staging, loading and transportation.
• Monitor temperature deviations and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to FEFO/FIFO, shelf-life and batch management.
• Minimize product damage, spoilage, expiry and wastage during dispatch.
• Ensure hygiene and sanitation standards are maintained across dispatch and loading areas.

Transport & 3PL Management

• Manage and coordinate with 3PL partners, transporters, fleet vendors and delivery partners.
• Ensure vehicle availability as per daily dispatch requirements.
• Monitor transporter performance on TAT, OTIF, vehicle utilization, damages, delays and cost.
• Drive corrective actions with logistics partners for recurring service issues.
• Support route optimization and vehicle utilization initiatives.
• Ensure vehicles meet required hygiene, temperature and product-handling standards.

Team & Manpower Management

• Lead and manage the dispatch team, including supervisors, executives, loaders and contract manpower.
• Plan manpower deployment based on daily volumes and peak requirements.
• Drive productivity, discipline and adherence to SOPs.
• Train the team on product handling, hygiene, safety, dispatch processes and documentation.
• Set clear productivity and performance metrics for the team.

Inventory & Process Control

• Ensure accurate physical and system stock movement during dispatch.
• Coordinate with inventory/warehouse teams for order picking and material availability.
• Ensure proper batch, expiry and shelf-life controls.
• Conduct regular stock reconciliation and investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Drive reduction in damages, shortages, inventory variance and product wastage.

Quality, Food Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to applicable food safety, hygiene, GMP, HACCP and internal quality standards.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for dispatch clearance and product quality issues.
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability for all outbound movements.
• Maintain compliance with internal SOPs and statutory requirements.
• Drive a strong safety culture across loading, handling and dispatch operations

Process Improvement & Cost Optimization

• Identify bottlenecks across dispatch and outbound operations.
• Implement process improvements to improve throughput and reduce TAT.
• Drive initiatives for logistics cost reduction, manpower productivity and vehicle optimization.
• Standardize dispatch SOPs and ensure consistent process adherence.
• Support automation/digitalization initiatives in warehouse and dispatch operations.

MIS, Analytics & Performance Management

• Publish daily/weekly/monthly dispatch performance reports.
• Track key metrics such as:
• OTIF %
• Dispatch TAT
• Order Accuracy %
• Vehicle Utilization
• Dispatch Cost per Order / Kg
• Loading Productivity
• Damage & Wastage %
• Inventory Variance
• Cold Chain Compliance %
• Transporter Performance
• Identify operational gaps and drive RCA and corrective actions.
• Use data to improve productivity, service levels and cost efficiency.

• 814 years of experience in Dispatch / Warehouse / Distribution / Logistics Operations.
• Strong experience in FMCG, Food, Meat, Dairy, Frozen, Perishable or D2C businesses.
• Experience managing high-volume, time-sensitive dispatch operations.
• Hands-on experience in cold-chain operations is strongly preferred.
• Experience managing 3PLs, transporters and external logistics partners.
• Strong team and manpower management experience.
• Good understanding of FIFO/FEFO, inventory control and batch/expiry management.
• Strong understanding of warehouse and dispatch SOPs.
