The Opportunity Nutanix is seeking an experienced and strategic Director, People Business Partners to lead our India People Business Partner organization and serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing people strategies that drive business growth, organizational effectiveness, leadership excellence, and exceptional employee experience.

As the Director, People Business Partners for India, you will play a key role in shaping the employee experience, leadership culture, and organizational health of one of Nutanix's largest and most strategic global locations. You will build, develop, and scale a high-performing People Business Partner team, through data-driven decision making, AI-enabled workforce strategies, and innovative talent solutions. You will partner with executive leaders to optimize organizational performance, accelerate workforce productivity, enhance leadership effectiveness, and drive adoption of emerging technologies that improve employee and manager experiences at scale.

The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, executive presence, organizational agility, and a passion for building scalable people solutions in a fast-paced, global environment.

You will be based in Bangalore, India and report to the Vice President, People Business Partners. This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence 3 days a week.

Your Role

• Lead and scale the India People Business Partner organization, building team capability and driving strategic partnership across the business.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, translating business priorities into people strategies that drive organizational performance and business outcomes.
• Drive organizational effectiveness through organizational design, organizational health, workforce planning, change management, and leadership development initiatives.
• Develop and execute talent strategies spanning performance management, succession planning, career development, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and rewards and recognition.
• Champion responsible AI adoption across the organization, ensuring alignment with ethical, compliance, privacy, and governance standards.
• Drive workforce transformation initiatives by assessing the impact of AI on skills, roles, organizational design, and future workforce requirements.
• Coach leaders on talent decisions, team effectiveness, and leadership excellence.
• Partner with the Employee Relations team to address complex employee relations matters while championing an inclusive, high-performance culture.
• Collaborate closely with HR Centers of Excellence to align and execute enterprise-wide people initiatives while ensuring local relevance.
• Utilize advanced people analytics, predictive insights, and workforce intelligence to anticipate talent risks, improve decision quality, and optimize business outcomes.
• Bring an external perspective on market trends and leading practices to continuously enhance Nutanix's people strategy, programs, and employee experience.

What You Will Bring

• Proven HR executive with experience building, leading, and scaling high-performing People Business Partner organizations in global, matrixed environments.
• Strategic business partner with strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate business priorities into workforce, talent, and organizational strategies that drive measurable outcomes.
• Trusted advisor to executives and senior leaders, recognized for influencing decisions, navigating complexity, and fostering alignment across functions, geographies, and cultures.
• Deep expertise in organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, organizational design, talent management, leadership development, and enterprise change management.
• Demonstrated success leading workforce transformation, digital HR modernization, and operating model evolution, including the adoption of emerging technologies and AI-enabled solutions.
• Strong understanding of AI applications in HR, including talent intelligence, workforce analytics, employee experience, automation, skills-based workforce planning, and responsible AI governance.
• Data-driven leader with experience leveraging people analytics, workforce insights, and HR technologies, including Workday, to inform strategic decisions and improve organizational performance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and governance requirements, with experience supporting Engineering, Product, IT, Software, Cloud, and other technology organizations in fast-paced global environments.

Qualifications And Experience

• 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience , including significant experience as a strategic People Business Partner.
• Minimum of 5 years leading, developing, and scaling high-performing People Business Partner teams in a global environment.
• Experience supporting technology, software, cloud, or related industries strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success partnering with senior executives and leadership teams to shape talent and organizational strategies.
• Experience operating effectively within high-growth, highly matrixed global organizations; experience in both scaling and established companies is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional executive presence and communication capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
