Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Mumbai seeks an experienced Director of Construction (Civil) to lead end-to-end construction for mixed-use developments. You will oversee planning, delivery, and quality across residential, commercial, retail and hospitality components.

The role requires a civil engineering background, 18–24 years of progressive construction management, strong leadership of multidisciplinary teams, and proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Master's degree preferred).
• 18-24 years of progressive experience in construction management, with significant exposure to mixed-use development projects.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex construction projects in urban environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil construction practices, materials, methods, and building codes.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities with experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools, construction software, and MS Office applications.
• In-depth understanding of Mumbai's regulatory environment, local construction practices, and approval processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end construction activities for mixed-use development projects, including residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality components.
• Oversee project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure to ensure timely delivery within budget and quality parameters.
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to project teams, including site engineers, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Drive design coordination, value engineering, and constructability reviews across all phases of project development.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, architects, consultants, government authorities, and internal teams.
• Develop and implement construction methodologies, best practices, and quality control processes.
• Monitor project budgets, cost controls, and financial performance; identify and mitigate project risks.
• Lead contract negotiations, procurement activities, and vendor management.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all construction activities.

Position Overview
