Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with site civil and structure contractors to maintain productivity and align with drawings.
• Act as liaison between main contractor, vendors and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Ensure works follow current construction plans and procurement/planning guidance.
• Ensure staff are aware of methods, standards and required notices/records.
• Produce method statements and shop drawings in line with project guidelines.
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors to maintain safe, clean, and environmentally friendly work areas.
• Assist planning by informing structural consultants of missing drawings and submitting required designs.
• Prepare and present monthly progress reports with delays and mitigation measures.

Job Description Job Title: Site Engineer.

The Site Engineer possesses the responsibility to work and coordinate directly with the site Civil and Structure Contractors for maintaining productivity at the site.

The Site Engineer’s role is to problem solve and coordinate between the main contractor and other work streams including vendors and suppliers.

The Site Engineer is the conduit for coordinating materials such as Scheduling reinforcement, coordinating with RMC plants, ensuring the contractors are working from the latest drawings, and ensuring the concrete casting and to ensure the concrete casting methodology is suitable for the size of slab casting.

The Site Engineers job description shall include but is not limited to, the following.

• 1. Co-ordinate with the concerned contractors to solve issues relating to progress, access, interface and completion dates as well as the other construction issues.
• 2. Ensure that the works are constructed in line with the current construction plan via the planning and procurement managers.
• 3. Ensure that all material requirements are passed onto purchasing in a timely manner ensuring that progress is not affected.
• 4. Ensure that all staff under your control is aware of the current methods, standards and procedures required to be used on the works. That they are aware of the requisite notices and requests for information to be given and the correct forms and records are completed for issue to management and the clients staff as required by the contract and the current project procedures.
• 5. Ensure that method statements & shop drawings for the construction works are produced in line with the correct guidelines and project plan before signing off those produced by staff under your area of control prior to issue.
• 6. Coordinate with the other responsible vendors and contractors to ensure work area is clean and is in workman like condition for maintaining safe access and is maintained as environmentally friendly for workers.
• 7. Assist with the preparation of all planning aspects including all structural consultants are informed of any missing design drawings and facilitate for the submission of all required designs to ensure there is sufficient time to prepare work method statements and shop drawings required to execute the works.
• 8. Produce progress reports as required as needed highlighting monthly progress, delays and concerns and indicate measures being taken to minimize delays and present such details at the Client weekly progress meetings.
