Director / Senior Director Hospital Billing (Facility Billing) Operations

Location: India (Bangalore / Chennai / Hyderabad)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven leader to head our Hospital Billing (Facility Billing) operations within the US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) domain. The incumbent will be responsible for driving operational excellence, client success, transformation initiatives, financial performance, and strategic growth across facility revenue cycle functions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Hospital/Facility Billing, end-to-end RCM operations, quality management, process transformation, and stakeholder management while leading large-scale teams and complex client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

Lead end-to-end Facility Revenue Cycle Management operations across multiple clients and delivery centers.
Oversee Inpatient (IP), Outpatient (OP), Emergency Department (ED), Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), and Ancillary Services billing functions.
Drive operational performance against SLA, productivity, quality, accuracy, turnaround time, and financial targets.
Ensure compliance with client requirements, CMS regulations, HIPAA, and payer guidelines.

Hospital Billing & Revenue Cycle Management

Manage all aspects of Facility Billing including:

Patient Access & Registration
Charge Capture
Medical Coding (IP/OP)
Claims Submission
Payment Posting
Denial Prevention & Management
Accounts Receivable (AR) Management
Revenue Integrity
Credit Balance Resolution

Drive improvements in cash collections, first-pass yield, denial reduction, and aging reduction.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as the executive point of contact for key hospital and health system clients.
Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and executive governance meetings.
Build trusted relationships with client leadership teams.
Support client retention, growth, and expansion initiatives.

Transformation & Continuous Improvement

Lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Drive automation, RPA, AI, Analytics, and GenAI adoption within revenue cycle processes.
Identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions.
Develop innovative strategies to improve revenue realization and operational efficiency.

Financial & Business Management

Own P&L performance for assigned business units.
Drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost optimization.
Support solutioning, pricing, RFP/RFI responses, and new business pursuits.
Develop business cases and ROI models for transformation initiatives.

People Leadership

Lead and mentor large teams of operational leaders and SMEs.
Develop succession plans and leadership pipelines.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Drive employee engagement, retention, and performance management initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline.
Master's degree preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH, Healthcare Management).

Experience

15+ years of experience in US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management.
Minimum 8+ years of leadership experience managing Facility Billing operations.
Proven experience leading large-scale Hospital Billing operations for hospitals and health systems.
Experience managing global teams and multiple client engagements.
