Job summary

Siemens is seeking a software engineering professional to design and maintain scalable backend systems and microservices in a cloud environment. The role involves building cloud-native platforms on AWS/Azure, developing AI/LLM tooling, and implementing RAG pipelines with vector search.

You will collaborate with global teams on architecture, usability, and technical delivery, contributing to CI/CD and infrastructure automation with Kubernetes and IaC tooling.

Qualifications

• Multiple years of software engineering experience with UI and distributed systems.
• Strong Python and/or Java programming skills.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform or IaC tooling.
• Hands-on with LLM apps, RAG pipelines, vector search.
• Monitoring and tracing with Prometheus/Grafana/ELK.

Responsibilities

• Develop production-ready AI and LLM tooling, including orchestration and failover strategies.

You’ll make a difference by

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and microservices architectures
• Build and enhance cloud-native platforms on AWS and/or Azure
• Develop production-ready AI and LLM tools, including orchestration, model routing, and failover strategies
• Design and implement RAG systems with hybrid retrieval, vector search, metadata-aware chunking, and reranking
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment workflows incl. Kubernetes
• Collaborate closely with global service engineering teams on architecture, usability and technical delivery

Hard Skills

• Several years of experience in software engineering incl. UI and distributed systems design
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java
• Strong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• Practical experience with LLM applications, agent-based architectures, RAG pipelines, and vector search

Your success is grounded in:
