Job description

Execute and drive results on large-scale efforts or multiple smaller efforts
Serve as development lead for medium and large projects
Perform program analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
Consult with end users to identify system function specifications and incorporate them into system design and delivery
Plan and manage application development assignments, including large-budget, cross-functional, or multiple projects
Analyze, communicate, and mitigate technical and business risks
Provide architectural guidance during preplanning and ensure principles and best practices are followed
Evaluate Digital roadmaps and impacts on upcoming journeys
Publish design review extensions and documented guidance aligned to sprint plans and timelines
Participate in the design review board and share organizational best practices
Publish design patterns across lines of business and drive NGA and POR project design reviews
Participate in microservices and NGA code reviews
Mentor and coach SDEs and their teams
Provide long-term perspectives on business and technology choices and vet architecture
Direct teams in developing efficient systems considering hardware, runtime, performance, load, and memory requirements
Develop long-term strategies influencing development processes and standards
Provide architectural guidance aligned with CTO guidelines and platform
Conduct design and code reviews for assigned LOB projects
Drive teams and stakeholders toward expected results and timely decisions
Balance effort, delivery timelines, features, and technical constraints
Identify and remove blockers and resolve dependencies between Agile and waterfall delivery efforts
Apply engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle
Track and communicate metrics for design reviews, code reviews, CI/CD, and design-pattern adoption
Communicate progress, anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations, and track and mitigate risks
Drive continuous improvement and adoption of new technology
Assess risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Citi policies

Requirements

10+ years of relevant experience in an Apps Development role or senior-level experience in an Enterprise Architecture role
10+ years of hands-on experience
Bachelor’s/University degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Expertise in AWS, PCF, and Akamai cloud platforms
Advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and networking
Knowledge of AWS PWS and NGA technology
Knowledge of automating code quality, code performance, unit testing, and build processing in CI/CD
Strong core Java experience
Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, and OAuth
Hands-on experience building enterprise-level applications using Oracle DB and Mongo DB
Experience with Gradle and Maven
Experience with Harness build platforms
Solid Linux/Unix skills
Knowledge of Apache Kafka
Knowledge of OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes
Thorough knowledge of clean code practices and test-driven development
