Job summary

Qualifications

• Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition or a MSc in Food & Nutrition/Dietetics.
• At least one year work experience in hospital/daycare centre.
• Verbal ability/communication skill (written & oral)

Responsibilities

• Screening and assessment of patients considering medical history, diet recall, preferences and blood parameters.
• Plan personalized diet for patients based on assessment; counsel patients and relatives.
• Meet IP patients and follow up on chemo cycles; modify diet as needed.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team (consultants, RMO, physiotherapist, nurses) and inform treating doctor about diet changes.
• Enter progress notes and maintain clinical data of patients; plan diet for IP/OPD referrals.

Role Summary

As an Onco-nutritionist, candidate will have to counsel cancer patients regarding medical nutrition therapy and to make modifications in their diet to improve the quality of life.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical

• Screening and assessment of patients taking into consideration their medical history, diet recall, preferences and blood parameters.
• Planning personalized diet for patients based on assessment conducted. Counselling patients and relative regarding the diet.
• Meeting IP patients and taking follow ups of the patients planned for the day according to their chemo cycles. Modifying patients diet if/when required or based on symptomatic problems faced during or after chemo.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary team like consultants, RMO, physiotherapist and nurses for patients diet. While making sure to keep the treating doctor informed about the diet planned or changes made in the diet chart.
• Entering progress notes and maintaining clinical data of patients.
• Plan diet for OPD or patients referred by consultants including home care.

Miscellaneous

• Plan menu for IP patients and coordinate with reception and food vendor for meals required.
• Taste food on a daily basis to ensure quality.
• Participate in extracurricular activity planned.
• Keen for research.

Management Information System

• Ensure to share accurate data to reporting manager
