Job summary

Narayana Health seeks a Nutritionist/Dietitian to assess patient diet and nutrition. You'll conduct ward rounds, perform initial and daily nutritional assessments, and prescribe diets using nutrition principles. You will coordinate with F&B and ensure diet plans are served accurately, while supporting nutrition education and service improvements.

You should be able to explain plans clearly, work independently with minimal supervision, and stay updated with nutrition research and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Regular ward rounds and direct patient interaction in nutrition care.
• Initial and daily nutritional assessments for in-patients.
• Participation in IDTR and diet planning processes.
• Prescribing diets based on nutrition principles and therapy.
• Interface nutrition dept with F&B services for proper diet delivery.
• Provide inputs to F&B to ensure diet adherence to plans.
• Deliver appropriate therapeutic and non-therapeutic diets respecting socio-cultural needs.
• Plan and provide special diets for patients with unique nutritional needs.
• Assist in preparing special recipes as required.
• Offer diet consultations for inpatients at discharge and for OPD checks.
• Stay updated on nutrition research and service delivery changes.
• Participate in nutrition health education programs.
• Contribute to planning nutrition services activities.
• Ensure quality control and safety/hygiene standards.
• Engage in quality improvement and operational activities as directed.

Job Purpose:

To assess diet and nutrition of patients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Regular ward rounds & patient interaction of all In Patients.
• Initial Assessment and Daily assessment in regard to Diet and Nutrition.
• Taking part in IDTR.
• Prescribing diets for all patients using the principles of nutrition & diet therapy.
• Responsible for interfacing the functions of diet dept with F & B services.
• Providing Inputs to F & B and ensure that proper diet is served to patients as per plan.
• Providing appropriate therapeutic & non-therapeutic diets to patients within their socio cultural constraints.
• Planning & providing special diets for patients with special nutritional needs.
• Helping in Preparation of any special recipes if required for patients.
• Diet consultation for Inpatients on discharge, providing necessary inputs to be followed at home.
• Diet consultation for OPD & Health Check Ups where deemed necessary.
• Keep abreast of relevant nutrition research changes, changes in delivery of nutrition services etc.
• Participate in appropriate nutrition health education programs.
• Provide input in planning of nutrition services activities.
• Ensure quality control & implementation of standards as for safety, hygiene
• Participating in quality improvement programs and relevant operational activities as per directed by Management.

Candidate Requirements:
