Job summary

N W Shamsett Jewellers seeks a Quality Control/Manufacturing professional to lead QC efforts across jewelry production in Pune.

You will develop SOPs, supervise inspections from CAD design to final polishing, and drive reductions in defects through root-cause analysis with production teams and artisans.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in quality control or manufacturing within the gems and jewelry sector.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement SOPs, quality checklists, and inspection parameters for raw materials and final jewelry.
• Oversee inspections across CAD design verification, casting, filing, stone setting, polishing, and plating.
• Monitor rejection rates, investigate root causes for flaws, and coordinate with production teams and artisans to fix issues and prevent rework.
• Test and approve incoming precious metals, diamonds, and colored gemstones for authenticity, grade, and durability.
• Ensure compliance with industry rules and hallmarking standards (e.g., BIS) and maintain detailed inspection logs and reports.
• Hire, train, and manage QC staff to uphold luxury standards.

Job Requirement

• Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality checklists, and inspection parameters for raw materials and final jewelry.
• Oversee inspections across all manufacturing steps, including CAD design verification, casting, filing, stone setting, polishing, and plating.
• Monitor rejection rates, investigate root causes for flaws, and collaborate with production teams and karigars (artisans) to fix errors and prevent rework.
• Material Evaluation: Test and approve incoming precious metals, diamonds, and colored gemstones for authenticity, grade, and durability.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with industry rules and hallmarking standards (such as BIS), maintaining detailed inspection logs and quality reports.
• Team Leadership: Hire, train, and manage QC staff to maintain consistent luxury standards.

Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of experience in quality control or manufacturing within the gems and jewelry sector.
  Knowledge of jewelry fabrication, diamond grading, setting accuracy, and the ability to read CAD drawings or design files.
  Strong analytical capabilities, leadership, keen attention to detail, and problem‑solving communication.
