Job summary

Shapoorji Pallonji Group seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and detailing for high-rise projects in Mumbai. You will analyze 20+ story frames using ETABS/STAAD, prepare design schemes and reports, and coordinate with consultants and project teams to finalize structural systems.

You will oversee RCC and steel detailing, manage engineers and draftsmen, monitor material consumption, and contribute to on-site supervision to ensure conformity with plans and schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in high rise structures (20 floors and above) analysis using ETABS/STAAD software.
• Detaling of RCC & steel elements using STAAD Pro, Excel, etc.
• Coordination with structural consultants and project engineering teams for finalisation of system and drawings.
• Ability to prepare design schemes, specs and Design Based Reports.

Responsibilities

• Analyze high rise structures (20 floors and above) using ETABS/STAAD.
• Design and detailing of RCC and steel elements.
• Coordinate with structural consultants and project teams for finalisation of design and drawings.
• Control consumption of structural quantities like concrete and steel.
• Assist monitoring on site construction activities to ensure conformity.
• Manage the team of Structural/Civil Engineers and draftsmen to ensure timely design completion.
• Prepare structural design schemes, specifications and design reports.
• Provide engineering inputs during all design phases and ensure codes standards are met.
• Study and evaluate design options and 3D frame analysis of steel structures.
• Detailing of various structural members.
• Plan materials and manpower for civil works.
• Interact with clients to define needs and develop design-based reports.
• Prepare monthly progress reports of civil works.
• Undertake value engineering during project phases.
• Coordinate with Architectural & MEP disciplines.
• Float enquiries, evaluate bids, negotiate with vendors, and manage material submittals.
• Plan project schedule and resources, coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Prepare and approve method statements and monitor site progress.
• Control resources to meet project plans and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with codes and local regulations.
• Participate in technical reviews and progress reviews.
• Proficient with STAAD PRO, ETAB, ACDC.

• Value engineering to structural system
• Standardization of structural system for customize models of low-cost housing and affordable housing.

Operational

• Analysis of High Rise structures ( 20 floor and above) using ETABS / STAAD Software
• Design & detailing of RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) & Steel elements using STAAD Pro, Excel etc
• Coordination with structural consultants and project engineering teams for finalization of structural system and design development drawings
• Controlling and quantifying consumption of structural quantities like concrete, steel, etc.
• Assist monitoring on site construction activities of projects to ensure conformity
• Manage the team of Structural/Civil Engineers and draftsman to ensure the timely completion of design activities.
• Study/evaluate/propose the structural system and preparation of structural Design schemes, specifications and Design Based Report
• Providing engineering inputs during all design phases including interpretation and challenge of standards.
• Analysis of Design &3D frames of steel Structure
• Detailing of various members of structures
• Material and manpower planning for civil works
• Interacting with clients to ascertain their needs and develop design based reports, concepts and specifications for assigned projects.
• Able to prepare monthly progress reports of civil works
• Undertake the Value Engineering exercise during various stages of the project
• Coordination with other discipline i.e. Architectural & MEP
• To float enquiry, Techno-commercial evaluation of bids/quotation, negotiation/ discussion with vendors, preparation & approval of material submittals, Purchase recommendation/ Order placement, Cost control etc.
• Construction activities involve Project schedule & resource planning, Co-ordination (Co-ordination with client, consultant, architect, electrical & plumbing depts., interior designer, vendors, contractors and other agencies) to sort out Engineering & Coordination issues.
• Preparation & approval of method statements, monitoring site work progress.
• Control resources such as manpower, materials etc to achieve an effective control on the work front
• Completion of jobs/tasks in accordance with the project plans and specifications and work progress in a manner to stay within the confines of the schedule.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of codes, standards and local regulations.
• Participate in the Technical review and progress review of the projects.
• Well-versed with structural design software i.e. STAAD PRO, ETAB, ACDC etc
