Structural Engineer
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Structural Design & Analysis
- Design structural systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
- Perform structural calculations and analysis for buildings, foundations, beams, columns, slabs, and retaining structures.
- Prepare structural drawings, specifications, and design reports.
- Ensure designs comply with safety standards, local building codes, and client requirements.
2. Project Planning & Coordination
- Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and contractors.
- Review architectural drawings and provide structural solutions.
- Participate in project planning meetings and technical discussions.
- Assist in preparing project schedules and budgets.
3. Site Inspection & Supervision
- Conduct site visits to verify construction quality and compliance with approved drawings.
- Monitor structural works including reinforcement, concreting, and steel erection.
- Identify and resolve structural issues during construction.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
4. Technical Documentation
- Prepare and review structural design calculations.
- Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) related to structural works.
- Maintain project documentation, reports, and records.
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals.
5. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with IS Codes, NBC guidelines, and local regulations.
- Conduct structural assessments and audits when required.
- Verify material quality and testing reports.
- Implement quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Risk Assessment & Problem Solving
- Evaluate potential structural risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Investigate structural defects and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide technical support for renovation, retrofitting, and strengthening projects.
7. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Communicate project progress and technical updates to clients.
- Present design concepts and engineering solutions.
- Address client queries and provide technical clarifications.

- Qualifications in Civil Engineering (M.Tech)
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred)
- Professional certifications are an added advantage.
