Job summary

The Standard India is seeking a DevOps Platform Engineer IV to own platform operations for the Data & AI Platform, including IaC, container orchestration, CI/CD, and deployment automation. You will build golden paths for self-service provisioning and run multi-tenant, compliant infrastructure on Azure Databricks, Neo4j, Confluent Kafka, and more.

Qualifications

• Typically 9+ years of DevOps/platform/SRE experience.
• Strong Azure and Databricks platform administration.
• Expert in infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.

• CI/CD depth with GitHub and Azure DevOps; ArgoCD-based GitOps.

DevOps Platform Engineer IV – Data & AI Platform

The Standard India is seeking a DevOps Platform Engineer IV to own platform operations for our Data & AI Platform: infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, CI/CD, environment provisioning, resilience, observability and deployment automation.

In this role, you will build the golden paths that let delivery teams provision compliant infrastructure through self-service, operate the shared substrate our data and AI capabilities run on, and drive deployment automation with GitOps. Your initial assignment centers on the Agent Harness and Environment task force, where you will be the primary owner for Docker sandboxing, environment provisioning and CI/CD, with supporting work across the AI / MCP Gateway and Enterprise Memory task forces.

This role sits on The Standard's Data & AI Platform team, which owns the enterprise's shared data and AI foundation — governed once and consumed by many — built on Azure Databricks, Neo4j, Confluent Kafka, Kong, and Anthropic and OpenAI models behind a governed gateway.

• Ability to work on‑site in Bengaluru, India is a requirement of the role.

Mode of Working

This role follows a hybrid work model, with a primary base in Bengaluru. While on‑site presence is essential for key engagements, flexibility is offered for remote work based on business needs and team alignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) modules and golden-path templates for pipelines, workspaces and environments in Azure.
• Build and operate container orchestration and Docker-based sandboxed execution environments for agent workloads.
• Own CI/CD for platform components across GitHub and Azure DevOps, including ArgoCD-based GitOps deployment automation.
• Provision and operate Databricks infrastructure, compute and storage, and Confluent connectivity.
• Design and operate disaster recovery for Data & AI platform: replication, failover and failback, backup/restore testing, and RPO/RTO targets aligned to enterprise DR standards.
• Design and operate multi-tenant patterns: tenant isolation, per-tenant access controls and quotas, capacity management and noisy-neighbor protection across consuming teams.
• Build observability with Datadog — metrics, logs, traces and alerting — and run platform services to published SLOs.
• Lead incident response for platform-managed services; run blameless postmortems and drive remediation.
• Wire secrets management, workload identity and policy checks into pipelines in partnership with security engineering.
• Manage capacity, performance and cost for shared compute, and reduce operational toil through automation.

Skills And Background You’ll Need

Education

B.Tech / B.E. in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems is required. Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience

• Typically requires 9+ years of DevOps, platform or site-reliability engineering experience building and operating production infrastructure.
• Strong Azure platform experience and hands-on Databricks platform administration.
• Expert infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform, including module design and CI-driven workflows.
• Strong container orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS), including workload security and autoscaling.
• CI/CD depth with GitHub and Azure DevOps, plus GitOps deployment with ArgoCD.
• Observability engineering with Datadog, including SLO definition and alert design.
• Strong Python and Bash scripting for automation.
• Experience operating Confluent Kafka connectivity or similar streaming infrastructure.

Preferred Experience

• Citrix VDI or virtual desktop infrastructure experience for developer or agent environments.
• Internal developer platform experience (Backstage or similar) serving internal customers.
• Policy-as-code exposure (Open Policy Agent, Azure Policy).
• GPU infrastructure operations and FinOps practice.
• Good to have Microsoft or Terraform Certifications.
