Job summary

TransUnion in Chennai is seeking a Lead Engineer - Development Ops to lead the design and implementation of scalable CI/CD solutions. You will collaborate with architects and partner with development, release, and SRE teams to deliver secure, reliable pipelines and tooling that boost developer productivity.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Harness, Artifactory, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm, plus scripting for automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps/CI/CD or related field.
• Hands-on with Harness or Jenkins or similar CI tools.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
• Proficient with IaC tools like Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Artifact management using Artifactory.
• Proficient in scripting (Python/Bash/Ansible).
• Strong Git-based version control and PR workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Harness.
• Engineer solutions aligned with architectural designs.
• Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes environments with Helm.
• Ensure CI/CD pipelines and artifacts meet security/compliance.
• Manage and improve base image creation and patching.

• Troubleshoot issues in pipelines, builds, and supporting systems.
• Support pipelines across DevLab, QA, and pre-prod stages.
• Provide mentorship and code reviews within the team.

• Work within SAFe Agile delivery model and participate in events.

Job Title: Lead Engineer - Development Ops

Job Summary:

The Lead Engineer collaborates closely with architects on the team to engineer and implement solutions aligned with defined architectural designs. They play a key role in supporting and improving continuous integration (CI) pipelines and developer tooling. This role partners with development, release management, and SRE teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable CI/CD capabilities that support business needs and improve developer productivity.

The successful candidate brings experience with CI tools such as Harness, artifact management with JFrog Artifactory, containerization, and Kubernetes. They have strong critical thinking and scripting skills, with the ability to automate processes and improve reliability and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Harness
• Engineer solutions aligned with architectural designs
• Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes-based environments and deployments using Helm
• Ensure CI/CD pipelines and artifacts meet security and compliance requirements
• Manage and improve base image creation and patching processes
• Optimize artifact management using Artifactory and JFrog CLI
• Learn, adopt, and align with OneDev, TransUnion's internal platform, to support standardized CI/CD practices and improve developer productivity
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in CI/CD pipelines, builds, and supporting systems
• Support pipelines and builds across lower environments (DevLab), including QA and pre-production stages
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews within the team
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in automation, tooling, and processes
• Work within a SAFe Agile delivery model, participating in sprint planning, story refinement and estimation, daily stand-ups, and quarterly Program Increment (PI) planning

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD engineering, platform engineering, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines (Harness preferred; Jenkins or similar acceptable)
• Experience with containerized environments, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu
• Experience with artifact management using JFrog Artifactory
• Proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible)
• Strong experience with Git-based version control systems, including branching strategies and pull request workflows
