Job summary

Eastern Petroleum seeks a Fire Hydrant System Engineer to design, install and maintain hydrant systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. You will ensure water pressure and flow meet firefighting needs while complying with NFPA standards and local codes.

You will collaborate with engineers, architects and contractors, perform hydraulic calculations, and optimize system performance to manage project risks and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing and analyzing fire hydrant systems with hydraulic calculations.
  • Knowledge of fire protection engineering, NFPA standards, and local codes.
  • Understanding piping, fittings, valves, pumps and water supply systems.
  • Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and assess system performance.
  • Proven collaboration with engineers, architects and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Design, install and maintain fire hydrant systems for buildings.
  • Ensure hydrant designs comply with local building codes and NFPA standards.

  • Technical Skills
    • Design and Analysis: Ability to design and analyze fire hydrant systems, including hydraulic calculations and system layout.
    • Fire Protection Engineering: Knowledge of fire protection engineering principles, including fire dynamics, suppression systems, and alarm systems.
    • Piping and Plumbing: Understanding of piping and plumbing systems, including materials, fittings, and valves.
    • Pumps and Pumping Systems: Calculations of pumps and capacity, including selection, sizing, and installation.
    • Water Supply Systems: Understanding of water supply systems, including municipal water supplies, wells, and stored water tanks.
