Job summary

Peoplefy Infosolutions in Pune, India is seeking a Design Engineer to prepare 3D models and 2D drawings for steel structures such as bottom ash hoppers, bins, silos, pipe racks and stair systems. You will support engineers with equipment layout in 2D and 3D, including connection detailing.

The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Advance Steel and Navisworks, good English communication, and willingness to travel domestically and abroad.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE Designer will prepare and deliver quality drawings for industrial steel structures such as bottom ash hoppers, bins, silos and silo support structures, pipe racks, stair systems, stair towers and concrete pedestals or slabs. Assist structural, mechanical designers and Engineers with the layout of equipment in 2D drawings and 3D Modelling including connection detailing for steel structures, Assembly & Equipment layout drawings.

SECTION 3 PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares design in accordance with scope, quality and budget requirements for all assigned work for contracts and proposals.

• Monitors and controls all assigned design work for contracts, proposals and the department in accordance with schedule requirements ensuring any variance and scope changes are acted upon and documented in accordance with cost management process.
• Incorporates the use of applicable design standards, software and applicable design codes in the preparation of all design assignments for contracts and proposals.
• Organizes, directs and coordinates all design assignment activities for contract and proposal work in accordance with Corporate Policies, Guidelines and Procedures Manual and Department requirements.

• Prepare detailed 3D models in latest versions of AutoCAD & Advance Steel tool.

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings in latest versions of AutoCAD & Advance Steel tool. 2D drawing extraction from Advance Steel 3D model

• Prepare Equipment layout drawings, Assembly drawings & Stack up GA drawings.

• Create accurate structural connection details in accordance with engineering standards and project requirements along with company standards.

Review and verify the accuracy of drawings before submission Ensure all drafting work complies with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.

• Familiarity with clash detection and model coordination tools (e.g., Navisworks).

Generate Bill of Material for estimation.

• Involvement in General arrangement drawings, verify feasibility of maintenance & erection/assembly requirements.
• Project documentation prepared in a timely fashion and filed appropriately. Project files are maintained in accordance with standard policies and procedures

• Must be a team player, able to work with multiple disciplines (mechanical, piping, pipe support & systems engineers)

• Participating in project meetings to discuss project requirements, design and drafting issues.

AUTHORITIES

• Prepare 3D Model, 2D steel structures Drawings, Assembly & Equipment layout & BOM.
• Review the drawings prepared as per check list and modify as per comments received.

KEY SKILLS

Proficient in AutoCAD, Advance Steel & Navisworks

Must be team player, able to work with multiple disciplines

Good communication skills in English (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask objectives and responsibilities, work within a team environment
