Job summary

Technospan Structures is seeking a Design Engineer in Karnataka to prepare detailed design and shop drawings using AutoCAD, Tekla, and SolidWorks. You will develop structural designs per client specs and conduct load analyses to ensure safety and compliance.

Role involves coordinating with multiple teams, reviewing drawings and consultant comments, and maintaining thorough revision records. Site visits and documentation management are integral parts of the job.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design drawings, fabrication drawings, GA drawings, shop drawings, and installation drawings using AutoCAD, Tekla, SolidWorks, or other approved design software.
• Develop structural designs in accordance with client requirements, approved specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
• Perform design calculations, load analysis, and structural stability checks to ensure safety and compliance.
• Coordinate with the Sales, Projects, Planning, Production, Procurement, and Site Execution teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review client drawings, architectural drawings, and consultant comments before commencing the design process.
• Ensure all drawings are issued within the agreed project timelines without compromising quality and accuracy.
• Revise drawings based on client comments, consultant approvals, or site requirements and maintain proper revision records.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), cutting lists, and material quantity estimates for procurement and production.
• Provide technical support to the fabrication and site installation teams during project execution.
• Attend project coordination meetings and resolve technical design-related issues.
• Visit project sites whenever required for measurements, inspections, or technical clarifications.
• Maintain proper documentation of drawings, calculations, approvals, revisions, and project records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Indian Standards (IS Codes), safety standards, and company quality procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for technical approvals and material specifications whenever required.
• Identify design optimization opportunities to reduce project cost, material wastage, and fabrication time.
• Report project progress and design status regularly to the Design Manager or Reporting Manager.
• Maintain confidentiality of all company designs, drawings, client information, and intellectual property.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting innovative design solutions and process improvements.
• Ensure all assigned tasks are completed within project schedules while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Reporting Manager or Management in the interest of the organization.
