Job summary

Tata Consulting Engineers in Navi Mumbai is seeking a skilled Electrical and ELV engineer to lead design and coordination for residential and commercial projects. You will prepare SLDs, lighting calculations, and energy optimization, while ensuring compliance with IS, NBC, NFPA, and local bylaws.

Collaborate with architects and sustainability teams to deliver integrated, safe, and energy-efficient solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical and ELV system designs for residential and commercial projects.
• Perform electrical load calculations, diversity analysis, and energy optimization studies.
• Design and plan DG sets, transformers, LT/HT systems, and electrical rooms.
• Prepare SLDs, panel schedules, and power distribution layouts.
• Carry out lighting design and lux level calculations focusing on energy efficiency.
• Coordinate ELV systems: Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, Data/Voice/Structured Cabling, BMS/IBMS.
• Ensure designs comply with IS Codes, NBC, NFPA, CFO requirements and local bylaws.
• Support statutory submissions and approvals; align with Ecofirst sustainability goals.
• Lead client-facing design discussions and present calculations and justifications.
• Coordinate with architects, sustainability consultants, MEPs, and external consultants.
• Assist business development with technical inputs, presentations, and proposals.
• Prepare design reports, calculation reports and technical narratives.
• Develop presentations for design reviews and client meetings.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure quality and constructability.
• Oversee or prepare Electrical 2D drawings and BIM Revit models; coordinate clashes.

Job description

Develop Electrical and ELV system designs for residential and commercial projects aligned with sustainability objectives

Perform electrical load calculations, diversity analysis, and energy optimization studies.

Design and plan DG sets, transformers, LT/HT systems, and electrical rooms, including space planning and access requirements.

Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), panel schedules, and power distribution layouts.

Carry out lighting design and lux level calculations, focusing on energy efficiency and compliance

Design and coordinate ELV systems including:

• Fire Alarm Systems
• CCTV, Access Control, and Security Systems
• Data, Voice & Structured Cabling
• BMS / IBMS and Automation Systems

Codes, Standards & Compliance

• Ensure all designs comply with:
  • IS Codes
  • National Building Code (NBC)
  • NFPA Standards
  • CFO / Fire Authority Requirements
  • Local statutory bylaws and regulations

Support statutory submissions, authority approvals, and compliance documentation.

• Support energy-efficient design strategies aligned with Ecofirst sustainability goals.
• Coordinate electrical systems with green building requirements (energy performance, automation, smart controls).
• Assist in integrating electrical and ELV systems with sustainability rating frameworks (as applicable).

• Lead client-facing technical interactions and design discussions.
• Present design concepts, calculations, and technical justifications confidently to clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with architects, sustainability consultants, MEP disciplines, and external consultants for integrated design delivery.
• Support business development through technical inputs, presentations, and proposals.

• Prepare design reports, calculation reports, and technical narratives.
• Develop technical presentations for design reviews and client meetings.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure quality and constructability of deliverables.

• Oversee or prepare Electrical 2D drawings and BIM Revit models.
• Coordinate BIM models for clashes, accuracy, and design intent.
