Roles & Responsibilities – Design Engineer (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM)
Role Summary: Design Engineer Electrical will be responsible for the overall design delivery of the Electrical systems. The role will include design, coordinate and provide design calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQ and other technical documents for tender and operating projects. The person also needs to coordinate with site execution team and vendors to ensure that design is followed and testing and commissioning are done accordingly. He/she should have expertise in building projects such as airports, hospitals, railways, metros, public spaces like stadiums, malls, hotels, convention centres, offices and IT buildings.
Desired Skills
- Should have 3 to 7 years of design experience on Electrical systems.
- Good knowledge of technical specification, design calculation and analysis of the requirement of all Electrical systems. Experience with simulation software such as ETAP, DIALUX and similar software is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of interdisciplinary input preparation for Electrical/HVAC/Fire/Architect/Civil etc.
- Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.

Responsibilities – For Tender Project
- Quickly understand the project and prepare queries in coordination with the manager or immediate supervisor.
- For details not available in the tender, provide design anticipating necessary requirements as per standard norms, codes and best engineering practices.
- Prepare service inputs for Electrical systems, including electrical room space planning, electrical load and HVAC heat dissipation details.
- Extract details from BIM models if provided by the client.
- Prepare project scope of works / project brief.
- Prepare tender BOQ, estimate, indices etc.
- Prepare Value Engineering options.
- Prepare schematic drawings in AutoCAD.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and facilitate seamless input sharing.
- Award advantage to candidates with estimation knowledge of Electrical systems.
- Update the manager or immediate supervisor on all project steps and appraise any required support or clarifications.
Responsibilities – For Operating Project
- Identify and align with the modality of operation for the design stage.
- Discuss with manager or immediate supervisor on key milestones related to design and execution at the project site to initiate procurement BOQs, drawings etc.
- Prepare the DBR, drawings, BOQ and other technical documents as per project requirements and client needs.
- Obtain approvals on design submissions from clients or other stakeholders.
- Participate in coordination meetings and ensure relevant data for Electrical systems is exchanged with concerned disciplines.
- Support procurement team in technical evaluation of Electrical Systems vendors/subcontractors in consultation with supervisor or manager.
- Perform first‑level QA/QC review of GFC drawings and coordination drawings and submit them for manager or supervisor review and approval.
- Review and approve shop drawings.
- Support the site execution team in installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
- Be responsible for design, validation and finalisation of Electrical systems.
