Job summary

Hindustan Waste Treatment Pvt. Ltd. (HWT) seeks a Design Structural Engineer to lead civil/structural design for municipal solid waste, water, and wastewater projects in India. You will develop basic and detailed designs, perform analyses, and ensure compliance with IS codes and client specs.

The role requires 5–8 years in relevant projects, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and coordination from design through to site alignment and approvals.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• Experience with IS codes and international standards.
• 5–8 years in civil/structural design for WWT plants, MSW projects, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic and detailed structural designs and GADs for RCC/steel structures.
• Perform structural analysis using STAAD.Pro, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit.
• Ensure designs comply with IS codes and project specs.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for project execution.
• Review contractor submissions for compliance.
• Prepare BOQs and technical specifications.
• Support site teams with design queries.

Job Opportunity: Design Structural Engineer – Civil

(HWT) is a 100% subsidiary of SFC Environmental Technologies Ltd., operating at the intersection of India’s urbanisation and the growing burden of municipal solid waste, where increasing landfill dependency and inefficient waste processing continue to pose critical environmental and public-health challenges.

HWT is actively engaged in Biogas and Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects across India and currently operates a solid waste management facility in Goa. The company delivers end-to-end integrated solid waste treatment solutions, encompassing process design, detailed engineering, in-house manufacturing, supply, project management, erection, commissioning, and long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) of waste treatment plants. Role Definition

Responsible for basic and detailed civil/structural engineering design for municipal solid waste, water, and wastewater treatment projects. Ensure safe, economical, and code-compliant designs aligned with project requirements, contractual specifications, and applicable standards.

Experience

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in civil/structural design for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants, Municipal Solid Waste projects, Power Plants, or Petrochemical/Industrial projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• M.E. / M.Tech in Structural Engineering (preferred).

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare basic and detailed structural designs and GADs for RCC structures, steel structures, PEB sheds, tanks, foundations, roads, drains, and pipe racks.
• Perform structural analysis and modelling using STAAD.Pro, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
• Design foundations using geotechnical inputs, including shallow foundations and pile foundations.
• Ensure all designs comply with IS codes, international standards, and contractual specifications.
• Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and optimize BOQs through value engineering.
• Develop and maintain civil MDL and monitor progress of design deliverables.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams for integrated project execution.
• Review contractor and consultant design submissions for compliance and structural adequacy.
• Prepare RFQs and technically evaluate vendor drawings and documents.
• Obtain design and drawing approvals from clients and consultants.
• Support site teams by resolving design queries and ensuring construction alignment with drawings.
• Contribute to standardization, design checklists, and continuous improvement initiatives.
