Job summary

Wood is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead design activities from concept to detailed design for Greenfield and Brownfield projects. You will guide a team of engineers, review complex calculations, and ensure the delivery of compliant, safe, and efficient civil structures.

The role requires strong experience in foundation design, 3D modeling, and coordination with multi-discipline teams to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech. (Civil) from a reputed institution.
• Preference for Professional Engineer Certification or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop Civil & Structural design from the Conceptual Stage through the Detailed Design Stage, providing sustainable and efficient solutions.
• Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers and designers, serving as the primary point of contact for structural engineering matters.
• Allocate tasks, provide guidance, and issue clear directions to ensure effective and efficient project execution.
• Prepare & Review Civil materials technical reports, Method statements, and Vendor Technical Clarifications and prepare Technical Bid Evaluation reports.
• Participate in project safety and design reviews and ensure work is delivered according to schedule.

Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Develop Civil & Structural design from the Conceptual Stage through the Detailed Design Stage, providing sustainable and efficient solutions.
2. Involve in the Design and Development of the following for Greenfield and/or Brownfield,Minerals and Metals Projects likePhosphate-Beneficiation, Phosphate Granularization, Phosphoric and Sulphuric Acid
   • Establish Design Basis, technical specifications/philosophies, work scope/tender documents/narratives
   • Review design of Plant layouts, roads, drainage systems, etc.
   • Review and interpretation of Topographical and Geotechnical reports.
   • Checking Calculations, General Arrangement, Detail Drawings, 3D Models and MTO
   • Guide/review design of different types of concrete and steel structures and develop engineering calculations
3. Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers and designers, serving as the primary point of contact for structural engineering matters.
4. Identify technical issues, define alternative solutions, establish pros and cons for multiple solutions, and make recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries and technical deviations.
5. Allocate tasks, provide guidance, and issue clear directions to ensure effective and efficient project execution.
6. Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, initiative, and analytical skills.
7. Supporting the Planning, scheduling and execution of discipline activities and deliverables, including manhour estimating and schedule preparation to support bid / tendering as required.
8. Originate new and revise existing engineering deliverables.
9. Revise and check engineering deliverables against company procedures, standards, and checklists.Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
10. Manage discipline work to the required schedule and manpower allocation, including requesting personnel as identified by the plan, and day-to-day supervision of discipline personnel on the project.
11. Manage and report progress of all Civil & Structural engineering and design budgets in line with contract requirements including weekly and cumulative productivity
12. To identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and / or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
13. To attend weekly internal and external progress meetings and generate status reports for the Engineering / Project Manager
14. Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of project requirements andmanageinterface meetings with Clients and Vendors to progress design scopes.
15. ToCoordinate with project/Engineering managers, procurement, construction, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
16. Prepare & Review Civil materials technical reports, Method statements, and Vendor Technical Clarifications and prepare Technical Bid Evaluation reports.
17. Should actively participate in various project workshops/reviews such as HAZID/Layout Reviews, 3D Model Reviews/Constructability reviews.
18. Evaluate supplier/subcontractor technical bids for compliance tointernal & client specifications and scopes of work.
19. Review of vendor drawings/other discipline drawings for adequacy of Civil design input requirements.
20. To participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary
21. To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
22. To provide technical support to site teams, and provide direction and guidance on technical queries relating to Civil & Structural engineering and raise appropriate EQ’s / deviations

  Software

  Shall be familiar with industry software, such as STAAD Pro Connect Edition, Mat 3D, Foundation 3D, 3D Model Review Tools (SPR & Navis Works), MS Office Suite, etc.
