Job summary

Rentomojo is seeking a Retail Store Design and Construction Lead in Bengaluru to own end-to-end store builds, from layout planning to on-site execution. You will design layouts, direct civil and interior work, and coordinate with vendors to achieve cost, quality, and schedule targets.

The role requires strong project management, BOQ preparation, and site supervision skills, with a focus on accurate cost analysis and timely delivery for rapid retail expansion.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will own a retail store from the drawing board to opening day - designing the layout, directing civil and interior execution on site, managing vendors, and delivering within cost, quality and timeline. With close to 100 store projects a year, this role sits right at the centre of RentoMojo's retail expansion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design retail store layouts and space plans
• Direct civil and interior execution at site
• Coordinate with civil and interior vendors and contractors
• Prepare and validate BOQs
• Check vendor rates and benchmark costs
• Supervise site execution and carry out quality control
• Ensure design-to-execution coordination with minimal deviation
• Support and track store opening timelines

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• AutoCAD - mandatory
• Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop or similar - for store signage, branding and launch collateral
• BOQ preparation and quantity estimation
• Working knowledge of civil, electrical, plumbing, flooring, false ceiling and carpentry works
• Vendor quotation comparison, rate negotiation and validation
• Basic knowledge of construction materials and prevailing market rates
• Project costing and budget control
• Site supervision and quality checks

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Vendor management: Ability to independently coordinate and manage civil and interior contractors.
• Project management: Ability to run multiple stores and projects simultaneously and deliver each within cost, quality and timeline.

PREFFERED

• AI & technology orientation - comfort in using AI tools across design, BOQ preparation, cost analysis, vendor evaluation, project reporting and documentation. Candidates who can identify and implement AI or automation opportunities in the retail construction process will be preferred.
