ISB is seeking a Manager – Quality Assurance to lead end-to-end QA for structural fabrication, ensuring compliance with drawings, codes, and customer specs across all fabrication stages.

The role focuses on document control, audits, welding & NDT oversight, and continual improvement, guiding the QA team and coordinating with Production, Engineering, Planning, Stores, and HSE to deliver right-first-time results.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Structural Engineering.
• ASNT NDT Level II certification.
• Welding Inspector CSWIP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and monitor end-to-end QA system for fabrication.
• Prepare and maintain Quality Manual, ITPs, SOPs, and records.
• Conduct system and process audits.
• Material control and traceability across fabrication activities.
• Monitor welding, NDT, and final inspection.
• Review WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications.
• Drive continuous improvements and defect reduction.
• Lead QA team and interface with Production, Engineering, Planning, Stores, and HSE.

Job description

Role Description

The Manager – Quality Assurance is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the end‑to‑end Quality Assurance system for structural fabrication at ISB, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, EN/ISO/IS codes, customer requirements, and statutory norms. The role ensures consistent quality from incoming material inspection through Cutting, Fit-up, Welding, Drilling , Surface protection, final inspection, and release, driving right‑first‑time delivery and continual improvement.

• System Management:
• Preparation, review, and update of Quality Manual, Quality Plans, ITPs, SOPs, WPS, inspection formats, and quality records.
• Ensure document control, traceability, and effective record management across fabrication activities.
• Plan and conduct System & Process audits at periodic intervals
• Material Control: Identification and tracking of all incoming raw materials and welding consumables.
• Fabrication Quality Assurance - Monitor quality throughout the entire fabrication process, from Raw Material to final painting, ensuring adherence to technical codes, QAP and specifications.
• Welding & NDT Control
• Review and approve WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records.
• Ensure in‑process and final welding inspection as per approved procedures and standards.
• Plan and control NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT, VT) as per applicable codes and ITP.
• Review NDT results, analyse defects and ensure corrective and preventive actions for defects.
• Final Inspection, Release & Documentation - Ensure completion and accuracy of QA dossiers, inspection records, and traceability documents.
• Improvement & Problem Solving: Manage non-conformance reports, analyse quality trends, and drive initiatives to continuously reduce defects and rework.
• Team & Interface Management - Lead and guide the QA team, collaborate effectively with other departments (Production, Engineering, Planning, Stores, and HSE) to foster a strong, process-driven quality culture.
