Job summary

Expleo Group in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in CAD modelling to develop and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with 5-7 years of relevant experience in designing complex mechanical assemblies and components. Strong familiarity with Autodesk Inventor, Creo, and Solidworks is essential for this role.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings associated subsystems using Autodesk Inventor, Creo & Solidworks.
• Generate GA, part and assembly drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
• Support New Product Development (NPD) and sustaining engineering (modifications, ECR/ECO) activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, BOMs, and engineering reports.
• Understand project requirements from global team and execute with highest level of quality standard.
• Work closely with suppliers on technical issues, design feasibility, and manufacturability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead and participate in the design and development of industrial products.
• Manage the lifecycle of existing products, ensuring their continued functionality and efficiency.
• Understand and apply global standards to all design projects.
• Leverage your expertise in mechanical design calculations to optimize product designs.

Qualifications

Masters / bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Essential Skills

• Expertise in CAD modelling of complex mechanical assemblies using CAD tools like Autodesk Inventor, Creo & Solidworks and PLM system like Windchill, Vault & SAP.
• Experience in designing complex cast and machine components for industrial equipment’s/ multistage centrifugal blowers.
• Casting, Machining, Sheet metal & Fabrication drawings preparations.
• Strong Proficiency in GD&T and Experience in using ASME Y14.5
• Hands on experience in new product development or Life cycle management of subsystems or components used in Industrial products.
• Strong practical understanding of real-world manufacturing, assembly, and service constraints.
• Develop presentation/ documentation material in support of NPD or i2V Design reviews etc.

Desired Skills

• Experience in Rotary equipment’s / multistage centrifugal blower design would be an advantage.
• Experience in technical documentation (Equipment, Instrumentation and Control datasheet preparation) is a plus.
• Mechanical design calculations to verify existing designs or select new ones.
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across locations.
