Job summary

Amar Equipment Pvt. Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Draftsman/Design Engineer to develop accurate 2D and 3D drawings for pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, and process machinery.

You will translate concepts into production-ready drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and prepare BOMs and fabrication layouts. You should have a Diploma/ITI in mechanical engineering, 3–5 years of drafting or design experience in industrial equipment, and strong knowledge of welding symbols, GD&T, and drafting

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering/Draftsman ship.
• 3–5 years in mechanical drafting/design in pressure vessel equipment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and review detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
• Prepare BOMs, fabrication layouts, and technical specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards and safety regulations.
• Provide technical support to design, fabrication, and manufacturing teams.

Job Title: Mechanical Draftsman/Design Engineer

Job Summary: The Mechanical Draftsman cum Design Engineer is responsible for developing accurate and detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings for industrial equipment such as pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, and process machinery. The role involves translating engineering concepts and design calculations into production-ready drawings using CAD tools including AutoCAD and SolidWorks. The position also includes preparation of fabrication drawings, layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOM), while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and quality requirements. The role provides technical support to design, fabrication, and manufacturing teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities/Requirements

• . Design & Drafting: Create, modify, and review detailed mechanical drawings, 3D models (SolidWorks/Inventor), and 2D layouts using AutoCAD.
• b. Engineering: Support Perform basic engineering calculations, select materials, and support design verification.
• c. Documentation: Prepare and maintain ,Bill of Materials (BOM), technical specifications, and, project documentation.
• d. Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with, technical codes and safety regulations.
• e. Good knowledge of welding symbol, welding joints, etc.
• f. Good knowledge of machine components & tolerances
• g. Strong understanding of drafting standards and best practices.
• h. Ability to interpret engineering sketches and design documents.
• i. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering and design teams.
• j. Familiarity with industry specific codes and standards is a plus.
• k. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure that drawings meet project requirements.
• l. Ensure that all drawings comply with company standards and industry regulations.

Required Skills and Qualification:

• Education: Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering/Draftsman ship.
• Experience: Generally, 3 to 5 yrs in Mechanical drafting/Design or Manufacturing Environments in Pressure Vessel/Equipment.
• Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D), SolidWorks
• Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of, mechanical components, GD&T, and manufacturing processes./Fabrication process and P&ID
