Job summary

CLAAS Agricultural Machinery in Mohali, India, seeks a Valve Technology & Systems Design Engineer to develop hydraulic valve blocks for tractors and harvesters. You will work under a German colleague, performing design, modeling, tolerance analysis, and documentation to meet customer specs.

You will create BOMs, release parts, and coordinate with suppliers while ensuring cost, weight, and time targets. English fluency is required; German or French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Deep knowledge of hydraulic valve components (spools, housings, sealings, springs, solenoids).
• Proficient in CAD design and technical drawings.
• Experience with CAST design for hydraulic valve blocks is preferred.
• Fluency in English; German and/or French are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design hydraulic valve blocks for agricultural machinery.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings per CLAAS standards.
• Perform tolerance analysis and document results with templates.
• Prepare BOMs and release parts through the standards process.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments for part releases.

Valve Technology & Systems Design Engineer/Expert for Hydraulic Valves & Valve Blocks

Tasks:

• Development & Design of Hydraulic Valves Blocks (e.g. steering, brake, or suspension valves) for agricultural machinery applications (e.g. tractors, harvesters) based on the Customer List of Specification, Hydraulic Schematics of the Customer Machine and internal CLAAS Valve Standards & Standard Technologies & Parts
• Independent development and design of Valve Blocks with a structured 3D-model setup, by considering an optimal manufacturing process and with respect to the cost, weight and time targets of the project
• Perform a tolerance analysis according to an available master sheet
• Documentation of the results by creating 2D-drawings with necessary shape and position tolerances by the use of CLAAS standards and available templates
• ECRM release of parts and assemblies
• Release of standard parts and coordination of the related steps with the standards department and suppliers
• Assistance with Valve assembly, prototyping, validation and industrialization under the supervision of a German colleague, e.g. at Indian suppliers

Additionally:

• Technical discussion concerning the designed parts & assemblies with other CLAAS departments (purchasing, IE, quality) and external part suppliers
• Creation of BOMs & CMC release of Parts and Assemblies for early Sample Stages
• You will document your work results and will be in direct contact with the Assembly Group Responsible Valve & Validation Engineer Valve

Additionally:

• You are responsible for quantity, quality, costs and deadlines for the dedicated Valve Sample Stage
• You are responsible to meet Customer Specification and align on Deviations as well as defining Test Specifications and align these with the Validation Engineer Valve
• You are conducting and providing documentation for risk analyses, FMEA, root-cause-analysis or product cost optimization
• You will document your work results for Experts & Management and present them during project meetings and technical reviews

Qualification:

• A successfully completed masters degree in mechanical engineering
• in-depth knowledge and experience in the development and design of hydraulic valve components (e.g. Spools, Housings, Sealings, Springs, Solenoids)
• Knowledge & Experience in Cast Desing fr Hydraulic Valve Blocks
• Reading & creating technical drawings and being proficient in relevant CAD software (CATIA / 3D Experience), SAP & MS Office are second nature to you
• Knowledge of the product development process, from requirements definition through to production launch
• You are fluent in English and, ideally, have a good command of written and spoken German and/or French.
• You are available for regular travel to Europe (Germany & France)
• You work in a structured, solution-oriented manner and you like to take on responsibility within the team
• You have strong communication and teamwork skills and you are able to work independently and with dedication
