Job summary

Marutee in Bengaluru is seeking a Design Engineer with 5+ years of valve design experience for Oil & Gas. The role focuses on Creo-based 3D modeling, EBOMs in IFS ERP, and ensuring compliance with API/ASME/ISO standards for severe-service valves.

You will perform design calculations, run FEA on models, and contribute to material selection for high-end alloys, while supporting testing and qualification activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience, strictly focused on valve design for Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors.
• Must have solid, proven experience in PTC Creo Solid Modeling (Creo Parametric).
• Hands-on experience using IFS ERP (IFS Cloud or IFS Applications) for managing BOM structures, item routing, and engineering change management.
• Deep understanding of severe service trims, metal sealing, stem packing systems, and sour-service material selection (NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156).
• Proficient with API 6D, API 6A, API 598, PED requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-precision 3D solid models, complex assemblies, and production drawings using PTC Creo Parametric.
• Build and maintain engineering data within IFS ERP, including multi-level EBOMs and ECOs.
• Ensure compliance with Oil & Gas standards (API, ASME, ISO, NACE).
• Perform wall-thickness, stem-torque, and pressure-containment calculations; conduct FEA on Creo models.

Job Description: Design Engineer – Speciality Valves (Oil & Gas)

Company Overview

We are an established engineering firm specializing in high-performance flow-control solutions for severe-service upstream, midstream, and downstream Oil & Gas operations. We design and manufacture custom, mission-critical speciality valves engineered to perform under extreme pressures, harsh sour gas environments, cryogenic temperatures, and high-abrasion conditions.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Design Engineer with 5+ years of core experience specializing in PTC Creo Solid Modeling and IFS ERP. In this role, you will be responsible for creating robust 3D solid models, parametric family tables, and complex assemblies for custom speciality valves (such as severe service ball, choke, double block & bleed, and subsea check valves), while ensuring full integration with Oil & Gas industry standards and IFS ERP data management.

Key Responsibilities

• Mandatory Creo Solid Modeling: Develop high-precision 3D solid models, complex assemblies, and production drawings using PTC Creo Parametric (Solid Modeling). Build fully parametric models using family tables, advanced solid feature history, and precise geometry constraints for valve pressure-containing parts.
• IFS ERP Data Management: Build and maintain engineering data within IFS ERP, including multi-level Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs), part master records, revision levels, and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
• Oil & Gas Standards Compliance: Design all solid components in strict compliance with API (API 6D, API 6A, API 607, API 6FA), ASME (ASME B16.34, ASME Section VIII), ISO, and NACE/ISO 15156 standards for sour gas service.
• Calculations & Validation: Perform wall-thickness, stem-torque, and pressure-containment calculations. Execute Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on Creo solid models and perform tolerance stack-ups for metal-to-metal sealing integrity under severe thermal/pressure cycles.
• DFM & Material Selection: Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) for solid forged, cast, and clad bodies using high-alloy materials (Duplex/Super Duplex, Inconel 625/718, Hastelloy, Monel).
• Qualification Testing Support: Support hydrostatic testing, fugitive emission testing (ISO 15848-1), and API fire-safe qualification testing.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience, strictly focused on valve design for the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors.
• Core CAD Skill (Mandatory): Must have solid, proven experience in PTC Creo Solid Modeling (Creo Parametric). Candidates must demonstrate deep hands‑on expertise in solid geometry creation, large assembly management, solid feature manipulation, and drawing generation.
• ERP System: Hands‑on experience using IFS ERP (IFS Cloud or IFS Applications) for managing BOM structures, item routing, and engineering change management.
• Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of severe service trims, metal sealing, stem packing systems, and sour‑service material selection (NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156).
• Industry Standards: Proficient with ASME B16.34, API 6D, API 6A, API 598, and PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) requirements.
