Job summary

Siemens Energy in India is seeking an Engineering Product Designer responsible for steam turbine component design and related drawings. You will work with NX 11 and Teamcenter, perform GD&T-based modeling, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree with 1–3 years in Oil & Gas, and hands-on experience in casting, drafting, and turbine-related components. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

• Hands on experience on Critical casting modeling & drafting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 3-D modeling and drawings of components/assemblies for Siemens Energy products.
• Provide drawing updates and revision control per SE standards.
• Perform design calculations and ensure conformance to project schedules and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with globally distributed teams to advance engineering projects.
• Record and track engineering hours and ensure document transfer with SE globally.

An Engineer Product Design you will be responsible for steam turbine component design and functioning. Experience.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Parametric modeling, Expression based modeling, Part families, Wave-Link Geometry
• Advanced Assembly features, Handle large assemblies in NX, Assembly arrangements
• Carry out 3-D modeling and drawings of components / assemblies for different SE products
• Provide drawing updating and revision control; Follow SE engineering and drafting standard practices
• Form Fit & Functional Check for the complete assembly as per Set Standard. Allot, check, and supervise output for quality, consistency and compliance to SE standards and client requirements.
• Carry out engineering and design calculations using as per SE guidelines.
• Handle ad hoc projects assigned by the Engineering Manager. Handle in confidence the drawings and / or trade secret information of SE products.
• Support efficiency improvement and establish best practices for modeling and drafting activities within stipulated time-period
• Recording and tracking of engineering hours utilized for various projects
• Electronic transfer of drawings & documents with SE Globally
• Exposure to work with/in diverging cross cultural/disciplinary teams

What You Bring

• Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1-3 years of experience in relevant Oil & Gas area.
• Hands on experience on Critical casting modeling & drafting.
• Hands on experience on NX 11 & NX continuous working knowledge of Teamcenter; Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experienced in managing/coordinating projects remotely in a globally distributed setup
• Hands on experience on Steam Turbine & Gate / Globe Valves
• Good knowledge of various manufacturing processes like Casting, Forging and machining processes.
• Candidate should possess excellent communication and presentation skills
• You have expertise working in MS Office (Project, Excel & PowerPoint) and Team Center to facilitate project execution.
• Strong soft personal skill i.e., team player, quick learner, ability to adapt quickly & effectively etc.
• Knowledge of steam turbine component design and functioning is preferred. Experience with steam turbine Trip and Throttle Valve is preferred.
• Knowledge of Different industrial standard like API 611/612, ASME B16.5/16.10/16.31/16.34 and Boiler Pressure Vessel Code
