Job summary

Xpo HR Consulting and Services in Chennai seeks a Mechanical/Vehicle Design Engineer to create 3D CATIA models and 2D drawings, covering BIW, chassis, powertrain, interiors, exteriors and packaging. You will drive concept development, detailed design and engineering releases while ensuring GD&T, DFMEA and design validation are met.

The role requires 3+ years in automotive design, strong CATIA skills, and familiarity with ENOVIA/Teamcenter/Windchill PLM tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in automotive/vehicle design and development.
• Strong expertise in CATIA V5 and/or CATIA V6.
• Good knowledge of vehicle engineering principles and product development processes.
• Experience in creating 3D models, surface modeling, assembly design, and drafting.
• Understanding of GD&T, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and engineering change management.
• Familiarity with PLM tools such as ENOVIA, Teamcenter, or Windchill.
• Knowledge of automotive standards and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA V5/V6.
