Job summary

String Bio is seeking a mechanical engineer to support engineering projects from concept to commissioning. You will design mechanical components, piping layouts, and perform testing and validation of new designs.

The role requires working across concept through installation and commissioning, with travel based on project needs. Applicants should have a BE/BTECH in Mechanical, hands-on CAD/CFD skills, and experience in GMP environments.

Qualifications

• Experience working in GMP environments.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and CFD tools.
• Understanding sizing of utilities, piping and HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of engineering standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conceptualize and create mechanical designs and piping layouts for design, development and installation.
• Provide mechanical engineering support from concept through commissioning and qualification.
• Develop testing processes and validate new designs.
• Provide commissioning and troubleshooting support for equipment and utility systems.
• Present designs to managers and clients and provide technical guidance.

Job description

Overview of Role:

Supporting the Engineering projects from the conceptual phase till the commissioning phase.

Key Responsibilities :

• Plan, conceptualize and create mechanical designs, and piping layouts - specifications for design, development, and support in installing new or modified mechanical components or systems.
• Provide mechanical engineering support from conceptual through detailed design, commissioning, and qualification during projects. To provide commissioning and troubleshooting support for equipment and utility systems.
• Develop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs.
• Knowledge of CAD, CFD, MOC Selections, Piping Requirements, and Utility Knowledge (Boiler, Chiller).
• Providing technical advice, Presenting designs to managers and clients.
• Perform process engineering calculations to support design work.
• Ability to work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture through to installation and final commissionings.

This role requires traveling based on project requirements.
