Job summary

ALTEN India seeks a Design Convergence Lead (DCL) for dimensional management in automotive exterior/interior trim. You will drive GD&T conformance, datum schemes, and supplier alignment from design through launch, ensuring drawings capture critical features in CAD tools.

Responsibilities include leading stack‑up studies, reviewing supplier GD&T reports, and aligning inspection plans with program requirements. Strong ASME/ISO GD&T knowledge and CAD/PLM proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years automotive Dimensional Management experience.
• Hands-on with exterior and interior trim parts for datum and tolerances.
• Experience with ASME/ISO GD&T standards.
• Proficient in CAD tools (NX/Catia) and PLM.
• Knowledge of RSS stack-up studies and GD&T convergence.
• Familiarity with 3DCS or Vis VSA is a plus.
• Understanding of plastic parts and manufacturing processes.
• Strong data analysis and statistical process control skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design convergence for exterior/interior parts from design to launch.
• Converge GD&T with suppliers and define datum schemes.
• Ensure drawings capture critical functional features in CAD/Excel.
• Review supplier GD&T reports and part inspection plans.
• Coordinate stack-up studies and provide improvement proposals.
• Define measurement roadmaps and review gauge concepts.

Design Convergence Lead(DCL)_Dimensional

Job Description

Responsible for Exterior, Interior, Chassis system/parts for Geometrical technical specifications and its conformance in vehicle for the assigned parts/system from initial design phase to Launch phase which includes,

• Provide the Asthetical and Functional requirement for sourcing.
• Converge the function/assembly/manufacturing process requirement.
• Define and Ensure the datum scheme.
• Ensure all Asthetical and functional requirements are captured in drawing with critical functional characteristics in CAD tool / excel.
• Converge the GD&T with supplier to meet gap and flush and functional requirements.
• Review and approve supplier GD&T report.
• Converge supplier part inspection plan with stellantis requirement with commitments.
• Perform and validate stackup studies(RSS/VSA) and provide suggestions and proposals.
• Propose and converge design or tolerance to meet the gap and flush / functional requirements.
• Define measurement road map / review the supplier part inspection plan.
• Review gauge design concept and approve.

Requirement

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical

Minimum of 6 years experience in automotive area in Dimensional Management

Should have hand on experience in Exterior and interior trim parts for datum and tolerances.

Should have hands on experience on ASME / ISO GD&T standard.

Should have hands on experience on Nx or Catia CAD tool.,PLM, or TC

Should have hands on experience on RSS stack up studies.

Should have knowledge on 3DCS or Vis VSA is added advantage.

Should have knowledge on plastic parts and manufacturing process.

Shoud have knowledge on statistical process control and measurement data analysis.
