Job summary

Asahi India Glass Limited (AIS) is seeking a design engineer to analyze requirements and create detailed CAD designs for aluminum and uPVC window/door systems. You will develop BOQs, cost estimates, and professional proposals for clients, while coordinating with procurement, production, and installation teams.

You will read architectural drawings, ensure code compliance, and present solutions with cost implications. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements, architectural drawings, and project specifications.
• Create detailed technical designs for aluminum and uPVC window/door systems using industry-standard software.
• Ensure designs comply with technical standards, building codes, and project requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive BOQ based on design specifications.
• Develop accurate cost estimates for complete project quotes including materials, labor, fabrication, and installation.
• Utilize quotation tools and software to prepare professional project proposals.
• Analyze and incorporate supplier pricing, market rates, and material costs.
• Prepare comparative cost analysis for different design options and specifications.
• Serve as primary technical contact for clients during quotation phase.
• Manage client communications for requirement clarifications, design changes, and quote modifications.
• Present technical solutions and cost implications to clients effectively.
• Coordinate site visits and technical meetings as required.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, installation, and sales teams.
• Maintain accurate records of quotations, designs, and client communications.
• Develop and update standard design templates and cost databases.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimizations.

Documentation & Process Improvement

Maintain accurate records of all quotations, designs, and client communications

Develop and update standard design templates and cost databases

Skill Set

Technical Skills-

Proficiency in CAD software for window/door design (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)Eva.

Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications

Soft Skills-

Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration

Industry Knowledge-

Familiarity with different window/door systems, hardware, and glazing options will be preferred.
