Job summary

Sarvodaya Hospital is seeking a Medical Superintendent or senior medical administrator to oversee hospital operations on the Medical Director's behalf. The role includes rounds, department oversight, policy adherence, and staff coordination.

The incumbent will supervise OPD workflows, medical records, medico-legal duties, postings and transfers, duty rosters, and response to grievances while ensuring patient rights and high ethical standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Will be responsible to Medical Superintendent/Medical Director and to work as MS in his absence.
• Will be responsible for efficient functioning of all departments placed under his/her control.
• Will assist MS or MD in ensuring the highest standards of ethical medical practices.
• Will be taking daily rounds of all facilities of the hospital.
• Will supervise OPD work such as clinical need for admission, discharge and will check such records.
• Will attend to staff and patients grievances.
• Will ensure that the hospital is concerned about patient’s rights.
• Will be solely responsible for all Medico-legal work.
• Will supervise medical records, its completion and proper filing. Will be in charge of medical record department (MRD).
• Will audit all files of admitted patients to ensure completion of records.
• Will ensure timely submission of birth and death reports to the local authorities through MRD.
• Will be posting, and transferring doctors and other technical and non-technical staff within the hospital.
• Will be preparing and implementing duty roster of full time doctors. Will ensure punctuality among all doctors.
• Will supervise work of all full time and part time doctors/consultants.
• Will personally investigate all complaints about the hospital medical services and submit his recommendations to the M.S/MD.
• Will attend to posting and transfers within the hospital, temporary duty and technical training of Para-medical personnel. In discharging these duties, will liaise with the heads of the departments and the matrons.
• Will be supervising purchase of items as per instructions of Medical Superintendent/Medical Director.
