Job summary

SANY group in India seeks a results-driven Workshop Operations lead to manage daily rebuild activities and optimize overall efficiency. The role requires ensuring timely reconditioning of major aggregates, maintaining OEM quality standards, and driving lean improvements across the shop floor.

The incumbent will oversee test benches, inventory coordination, cost control, and customer support aligned with warranty handling and service delivery. Strong leadership and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in workshop operations and production planning.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead teams and manage KPI-driven performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and control daily rebuild workshop activities.
• Ensure timely reconditioning of engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, motors, axles, and major aggregates.
• Monitor production planning and achieve monthly and annual production targets.
• Optimize workshop capacity and resource utilization.
• Ensure all rebuilt aggregates meet OEM quality standards.
• Implement quality inspection procedures and testing protocols.
• Monitor repeat failure rates and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major failures.
• Improve turnaround time (TAT) of rebuilt aggregates.
• Monitor productivity and efficiency of manpower.
• Implement Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop in-house fixtures and process improvements.
• Manage engine, transmission, and hydraulic component test benches.
• Ensure performance testing before dispatch.
• Validate quality parameters and maintain testing records.
• Coordinate with SCM and warehouse for spare parts availability.
• Monitor inventory and failed core management.
• Support kitting, de-kitting, and component revalidation activities.
• Monitor workshop operating costs.
• Improve rebuild profitability.
• Reduce warranty and rework costs.
• Control consumable usage and repair expenses.
• Support field service teams with technical guidance.
• Handle warranty cases and customer escalations.
• Improve customer satisfaction through timely delivery.
• Insurance claim and settlement revalidation
• Lead engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contract manpower.
• Conduct technical training and skill development.
